About Smiths Haulage

Smiths Haulage is an owner-operated transport business providing crane truck hire, machinery transport, heavy freight, oversize transport and road train services across South East Queensland, regional Queensland and interstate.

I’ve spent more than 25 years around trucks, machinery and transport. When someone books a truck, they’re relying on me to turn up, communicate properly, look after their equipment and get the job done without creating unnecessary problems.

I take a hands-on approach to every job. From the first phone call through to pickup and delivery, I stay involved and make sure I understand what is being moved, where it is going and what is required at each end.

How I Work

I believe transport should be straightforward.

If I say I’ll be there, I’ll be there. If something changes, I’ll tell you. If I see a problem with access, dimensions, loading or timing, I’d rather sort it out before the truck arrives than make it someone else’s problem later.

I don’t believe in overpromising just to win a job. I’d rather give a realistic answer, plan the job properly and deliver what was agreed.

You deal directly with the person responsible for the job.

That means clearer communication, faster decisions and someone who actually knows what is happening with your freight.

The Equipment to Do the Work

Our equipment includes a remote-controlled HIAB crane truck, Freightliner Coronado prime mover, flat-top trailers, drop-deck widener, oversize transport capability and road train combinations for heavier and long-distance freight.
